According to the ACS Digital Pulse 2023 report, Australia ranked 13th among 14 leading economies in AI deployment. At the time, only 24% of businesses were using AI, while 95% of the Australian workforce faced a significant need for reskilling.
These figures highlighted the need for immediate action to accelerate responsible AI adoption across Australian businesses.
A Major Step Forward for Australian AI
On 8 December 2023, The Hon. Ed Husic MP, AIIA CEO Simon Bush, and Turium AI Founder Dan Saldi unveiled the Australian Government's Responsible AI Adopt Program.
Backed by a $17 million investment, the program represented a significant step towards strengthening AI adoption across Australia. The initiative aimed to establish AI Adopt Centres nationwide, helping Australian businesses integrate artificial intelligence safely, responsibly, and effectively.
The program marked an important milestone in Australia's ambition to become a stronger participant in the global AI landscape.
Supporting Responsible AI Adoption
Dan Saldi had the honour of hosting The Hon. Ed Husic MP, Minister for Industry and Science, alongside AIIA CEO Simon Bush for the announcement.
The Australian Government's $17 million Responsible Artificial Intelligence Adopt Program aimed to establish up to five AI Adopt Centres across the country.
